PERIPHERIE 8, the art room in the attic in a residential building on the outskirts of Basel. PERIPHERIE 8 is an independent art room for artistic experiments.
The room is open for collaboration and mutual exchange and for mediation. The focus is on different media.

We are currently taking a break. The space has been closed since 20 September 2025 due to the current cultural policy situation. ​We have developed a different concept in which we are more independent of funding structures and would also like to expand our team. Thea is currently undergoing further training in this field and is unable to manage the space to the same extent as she has done for the last 5 years. The further training will probably take 2 years.

We are therefore always happy to welcome new, committed volunteers and self-organised projects that are self-sustaining and in line with our concept.
